About me
Julia has over 30 years experience in teaching classical piano. She received her Masters degree from Mikhail Glinka Conservatory, in the city of Gorky, Russia. Julia started her teaching career in Moscow, at the Academy of Arts where she provided individual and group piano lessons. In addition to these piano lessons, she conducted group rehearsals and participated in chamber ensemble performances. As a pianist and concertmaster, Julia has performed in Moscow Kremlin Palace of Congresses, at the National Children's Music Festival, and at the International Conference 'Russian Culture of the XX-th Century.' She also performed throughout Europe: England, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, and many other countries.
In 2000, Julia moved to the United States. She started teaching as a senior piano teacher at Polonsky Piano School in San Jose, CA. Julia is a member of the Music Teachers Association of Californa (MTAC) as well as the Music Teachers National Association.
Currently Julia teaches piano in her private studio in San Jose. Julia's students participate in local and national competitions and are awarded prizes such as performing at the Carnegie Hall in New York. Many of her students participate in the Santa Clara branch of MTAC Certificate of Merit program, where they have an excellent track record.
Julia's Mission
In my teaching practice I aspire to make sure that my students learn correct hands position, master piano technique, develop virtuosity, and understand the music they play for artistic expression. I try to instill in my students a genuine aesthetic appreciation, value, and love for musical culture that can make their lives aesthetically rich and interesting.
